The restaurant, located in Chengdu, is the second branch of its kind. The core of this design project was to upgrade the brand's image. Lv Jing used modern architectural thinking to extract design elements from Northwest humanities, creating a regular form to build the relationship between spaces. The design breaks through gloom and confusion, allowing the old food to innovate iteratively in the context of the times.
One of the unique features of this design is the uncarved rocks piled up outside metal braided grilles. This creates an unmodified plastic vision, highlighting the rugged and unrestrained folk characteristics of Northwest China. The combination of a transparent glass window and a black block produces a virtual and realistic visual effect, creating an excellent visual depth of field effect.
The restaurant covers a total of 150 square meters. The mysterious black theme adds deep spatial aesthetics. Metal strips are stacked and staggered to create a distinct visual effect. The space is re-structured by adding point light devices, distinguishing it from adjacent stores.
The mottled wooden countertops are warmly and softly flushed with delicate lights. Geometric patterns of large areas and ears of wheat stack rich spatial details, providing a fresh sensory experience. The design of the dining area accommodates diverse dining needs, providing enough possibilities for smooth movement and function between spaces.
The project started in September 2017 in Chengdu and was completed in June 2018. The design faced challenges, such as transforming abstract artistic expression into a perceptible spatial image. However, Lv Jing successfully overcame these challenges, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. This design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019.
